Alex was born in Southern California and moved to Madras, Oregon with his family at a young age. Growing up in a very diverse town, Alex learned to work with and appreciate people of various cultures and beliefs, values that he incorporates into every aspect of his life and work. Working with children and youth in churches kickstarted Alex’s career serving youth in the non-profit world 8 years ago. That spark for mentoring continued to grow as he worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon and, later, a collaborative between his local school district and a nonprofit. Alex helped pioneer this unique collaboration in his county to eliminate barriers to education by meeting the basic needs of students. Every program that he developed was created to treat people with dignity and make a difference one story at a time. Alex is thrilled to be back with BBBS in Columbia Northwest and to express his passion for mentoring by recruiting BIGS/LITTLES and helping grow the organization to its greatest potential.

In his free time, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and their labradoodle, exploring Portland’s food scene, playing tennis or pickle ball, and connecting with other young adults.
