Zi grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington state and studied Human Services and Sustainable Agriculture at the Evergreen State College.  Their undergraduate years also included an emphasis in Reproductive Justice which included being the Program Coordinator of the first prison doula project in the country, The Birth Attendants as well as travels and studying in Morelos, Mexico and Sierra Leone, West Africa as a doula and aspiring midwife. Zi relocated to Portland in January 2022 and enjoys spending free time with their children, ESA dog, cooking, playing roller derby, gardening, and getting involved in various community organizing and social justice causes.
