April was born and raised in Dos Palos, California in the heart of the rural Central Valley. She received an A.S. in Mathematics before moving to Portland and receiving her B.S. in Sociology from Oregon State University.
With a mind for numbers and a heart for people, she found her passion in nonprofit accounting in 2018. She loves the way a solid operational system supports big pictures in nonprofit spaces. In 2023, she was thrilled to join BBBS Columbia Northwest and support our BIG dreams for youth mentoring in the greater Portland area.
Outside of work, April is a handcrafter, sewer, weaver, beader, reader and dreamer who spends her days with her partner and their cat, Shabba.
Halito! Chahta Sia Hoke! She is also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and is actively reconnecting with the greater indigenous communities in the PNW.
