BIG Futures@Work connects high school youth to the corporate world. Up to 15 youth are selected from a local high school and transported as a cohort to the worksite. They are matched with a company employee and begin a 12-month journey together that is focused on relationship development, belonging, social-emotional skill building, and career planning. BBBS staff facilitate an engaging and easy-to-follow curriculum aligned with the Oregon Department of Education and high school graduation requirements that culminates in an informed career pathway plan.
Think about it for a minute. Who mentored you? Mentorship is considered one of the most reciprocal value-add human experiences. Volunteerism positively impacts employee retention, aligns with company values and JEDI initiatives, and strengthens a mentor’s empathy, leadership, and collaboration skills.
BIG Futures@Work is convenient for employees, supports youth advancement, and aligns with workforce development strategies in Oregon. Join Us. Ignite the Power and Promise of Youth.
