Lucia was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. She is Peruvian American and a proud native Spanish speaker. She left the Midwest for Portland upon graduating from the Indiana University School of Social Work in the spring of 2021. Throughout her undergraduate career, she fell in love with the drive of nonprofit organizations, inspired by her time spent working with a family shelter and a youth theatre program. She is motivated by her passion for youth advocacy and equitable access to education and resources. In her personal time, Lucia is a reader and recreational artist. She enjoys exploring the intersection of storytelling and social justice in all its forms.
