THANK YOU TO OUR GUESTS AND SPONSORS!

Over 350 people gathered to build bridges together and ignite the potential of youth through mentorship at the 2023 BBBS Annual Gala. These donors, sponsors, friends, and community leaders raised $460,000 in support of our one-to-one mentoring programs here in Portland and SW Washington.

These contributions mean more matches, more enriching experiences for our Bigs and Littles, more laughs, better grades, higher self-esteem, and more children with positive and supportive relationships to them plan for their future.

From everyone at Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest, thank you for making our Annual Gala a success and for helping us continue to build bridges to a brighter future!

Congrats to the 2023 Matches of the Year!

The BBBS Annual Gala concluded with a celebration of the 2023 Bigs and Littles of the Year highlighting the matches of Big Sister Haley and Little Sister Anjanae and Big Brother Anthony and Little Brother Jamarea.

Together these matches make up a whopping 13 years of fun, learning, and an extra shoulder to lean on when times get tough. We were honored to share Haley and Anjanae’s story at this year’s Gala and now we get to share it with you.

Thank you, Haley & Anjanae and Anthony & Jamarea, for being the shining example that it takes little to be big!

Meet our MC & Alumni Little

Lindsey Murphy

Named one of Portland Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 for 2019, Lindsey E. Murphy has been called a “visionary,” “ force of nature,” “breath of fresh air,” and is said to “light up the darkest corners of any room.” This may be because she believes in and strived toward a world full of joy, fun, healed hearts, and people empowered and released to truly live out the fullness of their lives. These are the values that inform every single thing she does.

She is the award-winning creator + host of The Fab Lab With Crazy Aunt Lindsey, YouTube’s most beloved kids science web series that takes everyday science concepts and turns them into fabulous DIY projects children can do at home with their families. Since launching in 2010, the show has garnered partnerships with the likes of Scientific American Magazine, the New York Academy of Sciences, been published in various national family magazines, and crowdfunded nearly $100,000 for independent production in 2019.

Born in Morristown, New Jersey, and professionally raised in NYC corporate hustle and bustle, Lindsey moved to Portland Oregon in 2013 with no job, knowing no one, and exactly $.47 in her bank account. You should email her to grab a coffee some Friday soon where she will gladly tell you the rest of that story.

Thank You to our 2023 Sponsors!
